JOB DESCRIPTION

Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a man in my 30s living in Grangetown Cardiff. I am keen to learn how to cook healthy meals, rather than relying on takeaways et cetera. It’s also important to me that I get out and about. I enjoy walking and cycling, electronic music, dance music, rock and also like the 70s era. I’m particularly interested in playing the guitar and I have a keyboard. I am interested in military and in dark periods of history. I also like going to the gym. I’m a very intelligent individual, but need support to overcome barriers. I also need help to plan and organise myself. The job and associated tasks may expand in time depending on how my skills develop.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To help me with bills, my skills and confidence as well as accessing the community.

PLACE OF WORK

As detailed above, you will initially be based at my home and then helping me to access the local community and wider area.

HOURS OF WORK

I would need support on Mondays but can be flexible when needed. I have 3 hours per week.

RATE OF PAY

£14.70

TASKS INVOLVED

Helping me to plan, organise and carry out household tasks including cleaning, washing and other tasks as needed. It is envisaged that I will work alongside you.

Helping me to learn to cook healthy and various meals.

Accompanying me on walks, cycling trips and in the way to Community.

Accompany me to social events and providing any assistance guidance or support whilst there.

Accompanying me to the gym.

Able to respect privacy and confidentiality.

Willingness to learn about my impairment.
Positive attitude.
Patience.
Ability to cook good food (you do not need to be a trained chef!)

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
