Summary

Our client, a leading primary school in Offerton, Borough of Stockport, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the classroom teacher to provide individualised support and attention to children aged 3-5 years old. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, assisting with lesson planning and delivery, supervising and engaging children in various educational and play-based activities, and monitoring the progress and well-being of each child.

The successful candidate will have a genuine passion for early childhood education and a deep understanding of child development. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to build strong relationships with both children and their families. Additionally, you will be adept at working collaboratively with the teaching staff to ensure a cohesive and nurturing learning environment.

- Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to children, helping them to develop academic, social, and emotional skills
- Observe and monitor the progress and well-being of each child, and communicate any concerns or progress to the teacher
- Ensure a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for all children
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of a stimulating, well-organised classroom
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required
- Collaborate with parents and caregivers to support the learning and development of each child
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as an Early Years Teaching Assistant or in a similar role
- Relevant educational qualifications, such as a diploma or certificate in Early Childhood Education or a related field
- Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and best practices in early childhood education
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
- Patience, creativity, and a genuine passion for supporting the holistic development of young children
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development
