About the Role
As a Teaching Assistant specialising in autism support, you will:
Work closely with students with ASD to help them access learning and achieve their full potential
Support classroom teachers in creating an inclusive, nurturing learning environment
Deliver 1:1 and small-group interventions tailored to individual needs
Help develop personalised strategies to reduce anxiety, build confidence, and promote positive behaviour
Collaborate with teachers, pastoral staff, and external professionals
Contribute to an environment where every student feels valued, understood, and supported
About You
We are seeking someone who:
Has experience working with children or young people with autism (ideally in a school setting)
Understands the challenges and strengths associated with ASD.
Is patient, empathetic, and proactive
Can build strong, supportive relationships with students
Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
Relevant training (eg, Autism Awareness, TEACCH, ADHD awareness, or behaviour support) is desirable but not essential for the right candidate.
