Location: Cillefwr Depot
Hours: 37 hours per week
Start Date: 02/03/2026
Working Pattern: Monday–Friday, 07:00–15:00 or 08:00–16:00

Their cleansing teams play a vital role in supporting local communities, ensuring high environmental standards, and responding flexibly to changing service needs.
The Role
The Street Cleansing Operative will support the delivery of frontline environmental services, carrying out a range of cleansing duties to maintain public areas across Carmarthenshire. This is a physically active role requiring reliability, flexibility, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness in the local area.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out street cleansing duties across designated areas, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and safety.
Operate council vehicles as required to support cleansing operations.
Work flexibly across shift patterns (07:00–15:00 or 08:00–16:00) depending on service needs.
Follow health and safety procedures and use equipment safely and appropriately.
Respond to changing service requirements and support wider cleansing teams as needed.
Represent the council professionally when working in public spaces.
Candidate Requirements
Fit and in good general health (essential).
Living in Carmarthenshire (essential).
Full UK driving licence (essential).
Flexibility to work either 07:00–15:00 or 08:00–16:00 (essential).
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Previous cleansing or manual labour experience desirable but not essential.
