Role: Governance Manager (6-Month Contract)

Overview
On behalf of our client Scottish Power, I am seeking an experienced Governance Manager to support financial governance, OPEX budget management, and team leadership within a fast-paced environment. This role does not require a qualified accountant, but does require strong financial, accounting, and governance experience.

• Lead a team of financial professionals to drive and monitor the budget, forecast and monthly performance reporting covering all ScottishPower DT costs in line with SP and IBE frameworks, processes and timetables.
• Specifically for DT, manage the Totex budget for all above processes, ensuring delivery against objectives. Providing management and traceability, acting as the custodian of the DT Budget, remaining independent and challenging DTLT on behalf of DT Director
• Manage all DT budget challenges and tasks, identifying and presenting opportunities and solutions to achieve required outcomes to Director/DTLT and any other relevant stakeholders as required, taking into consideration financial risks and issues.
• Actively contribute to the creation of the Iberdrola Long Term Outlook, acting as a partner to DTLT/Control/Group IBE, identifying and implementing opportunities to provide more enhanced information to inform the overall picture.
• Implement robust frameworks and governance processes that enable team to lead on the financial analysis, governance and/or quality review of all financial/commercial DT projects up to £100m capex investment.
• Work with the PMO team to define financial project management standards and processes and develop financial reporting in the project management tool to enable efficiency and standardisation
• Lead and support the development of financial business cases, ensuring robust quality control measures are in place, providing financial expertise and ensuring that they are prepared in accordance with Budget/Plan objectives and generally accepted accounting principles
• Provide oversight and ensure successful delivery of accounting processes relating to Cloud accounting and Fin Ops
• Implement and manage chargeback models to allocate IT costs to different business units and projects
• Implement and manage financial modelling for regulatory requirements to meet external deadlines and Business expectations
• Continuously improve financial processes to uplift maturity level identifying and implementing opportunities to automate and streamline aspects of financial management
• Act as primary point of contact for Internal Audit, Control and Group IBE counterparts on all matters related to costs, using effective stakeholder management skills to build understanding of SP position, challenging and influencing appropriately to achieve desired outcome
• Manage and develop finance team to optimise the efficiency and effectiveness of the department focusing on continual improvement initiatives


Contract Details
• Duration: 6 months
• Rate: Competitive daily rate, available via Umbrella company or PAYE
• Start: ASAP
