What skills and experience we're looking for

The History department consists of three highly skilled teachers; all convey a love for their subject and the enrichment programme offered is extensive across KS3-5. The department has a very strong track record of high performance at KS4 and KS5 over time. Outcomes are excellent for students.

History is a very popular GCSE option and there are usually three or four groups in Year 9-11. This popularity continues at A Level where both History and Politics are taught.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and qualified teacher of History and Politics who is able to teach across KS3-KS5. In particular the school requires a teacher who is as passionate about delivering high-quality teaching as they are about their subject. It is essential that candidates are able to teach History up to KS5, and the ability to offer a second subject is desirable.

The role is suitable for a colleague entering the profession and our support programme for ECTs is excellent. Alternatively, you might be looking to develop your career in a new context and we will be able to support in your career development.

If the Head of Year post interests you please identify this in your application.
