S&J Art and Culture represent artists across visual, performance and digital media, and advise UK and Chinese companies on entering each other’s markets. From artist management and artwork rights to brand strategy and design execution, we turn cross-border ideas into workable projects.
About the Role
We operate at the intersection of creative production, international marketing, and commercial music development. Under our long-term service agreements, the Company is required to deliver end-to-end UK-based music services for international artists, including: facilitating collaborations with UK songwriters, composers and performers; arranging and coordinating recording sessions at leading UK studios; designing and executing UK-focused marketing and promotional campaigns; sourcing and managing commercial performance opportunities; and overseeing music copyright transactions, licensing and brand collaborations.
To meet these ongoing contractual obligations and support continued growth in the UK market, we are recruiting a Senior Art Consultant (Music) to lead the planning, production coordination, commercial development, and delivery of UK-based music projects for international artists—ensuring professional execution across recording, live performance, and licensing initiatives.
Key responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee rehearsal schedules, production timelines, and recording session plans for UK-based music projects.
• Coordinate technical rehearsals, sound checks, and dress rehearsals for showcases, live performances, and commercial appearances.

• Liaise with studios, sound engineers, producers, stylists, and venue managers to ensure smooth delivery of recording and live projects.
• Supervise on-site execution to maintain professional production standards.
2) Live event & performance management
• Identify and secure suitable UK venues and commercial performance opportunities for international artists.
• Contract performers, session musicians, technical crews, and event suppliers in line with UK regulations.
• Oversee staging, presentation standards, and audience-facing delivery of performances.
• Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation, including risk assessments where required.
• Manage artist reputation and brand positioning during public appearances and media events.
3) International artist campaign support
• Design and implement integrated marketing campaigns for artists entering the UK market.
• Coordinate multi-platform promotions across digital media, PR, brand activations, and live showcases.
• Leverage established networks across media outlets, streaming platforms, promoters, venues, and brand partners.
• Provide strategic recommendations informed by market insight and international repertoire experience.

• Manage negotiations and coordination with luxury, lifestyle, and consumer brands.
• Identify opportunities for synchronisation licensing, publishing partnerships, and copyright transactions.
• Support revenue generation across recordings, live events, and commercial partnerships.
5) Cross-border stakeholder & project communication
• Act as the primary liaison between UK stakeholders and Chinese record labels, management companies, and artists.
