Job Opportunity: Part-Time Library Assistant - Randalstown
We are currently recruiting for a temporary part-time Library Assistant on behalf of our public sector client based in Randalstown. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience within a respected public body. Immediate start available.
rate of Pay £13.63 per hour Satruday rate £20.45 per hour
Working Hours
Week One - Work Timetable
Tuesday:
11:45 - 20:00 (30‑minute break) = 7.75 hrs
Wednesday:
9:15 - 17:30 (1‑hour break) = 7.25 hrs
Friday:
9:15 - 17:30 (1‑hour break) = 7.25 hrs
Saturday:
9:15 - 13:00 = 3.75 hrs
Week Two - Work Timetable

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with queries using both print and electronic resources
- Register new clients and explain library services, rules, and regulations
- Deliver services that support the learning, information, leisure, and cultural needs of the local community
- Assist with the routine delivery of the programme of promotional activities to include school class visits, story time, user education events, special initiatives etc.
✅ Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs including English Language and Maths (Grade C or equivalent) *Certificates will be required
- At least 1 year's experience providing face-to-face service to the public
- Experience working with young children and elderly people
- Proficient in using ICT to access, select, and use information
