Launch Your Psychology Career: SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you a Psychology Graduate looking to bridge the gap between theory and practice?

If you're looking to gain high-quality, frontline experience in child development, behavioural analysis, and neurodiversity, this is the perfect environment to build your portfolio. Join a leading specialist school near Cranleigh and apply your degree where it truly makes an impact.

The Opportunity

Working in a specialist SEN setting provides a unique "living lab" for those interested in Educational Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, or Clinical Practice. You won't just be supervising; you'll be observing and supporting complex developmental profiles in a supportive, multidisciplinary team.

How You'll Apply Your Degree
  • Behavioural Support: Utilise your understanding of psychological frameworks to support students with diverse learning needs and emotional regulations.

  • Data & Observation: Monitor student progress and provide feedback that contributes to EHCP (Education, Health and Care Plan) reviews.

  • Relationship Science: Build therapeutic-style rapport with students, focusing on social-emotional development and mental well-being.

  • Collaborative Practice: Work alongside teachers and specialists to deliver tailored interventions.

What We're Looking For
  • Academic Foundation: A degree in Psychology or a related Social Science.

  • Practical Mindset: Previous experience supporting young people (SEN experience is a huge plus).

  • Resilience: An empathetic nature paired with the emotional intelligence to handle challenging situations.

  • Logistics: A valid UK driving license and your own vehicle are essential due to the school's rural location.

Why This Role?
  • Professional Growth: Gain the "hours on the ground" required for Doctorate or Masters applications.

  • Specialist Environment: Work in a school that is highly regarded for its commitment to inclusive education.

  • Permanent Security: A full-time, stable role in a stunning rural setting.
