Engineering Operations Assistant
Our client is a well-established and growing metal fabrication company delivering high-quality fabricated solutions to a diverse customer base. Due to continued expansion, they are looking to recruit a proactive and detail-oriented Operations Co-Ordinator to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy engineering environment where you will play a key role in supporting production, purchasing, and sales operations.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will support the smooth day-to-day running of operations across production and commercial functions.
Key responsibilities include:
• Daily use of the company ERP system to support production scheduling, material availability and order status
• Purchasing materials and components
• Creating and managing Bills of Materials (BOMs)
• Preparing costings for both production and sales quotations
• Producing and maintaining documentation including Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and Material Certificate Packs
• Preparing production packs including drawings and works orders
• Liaising with Directors, management, quality control, shop floor personnel, customers and suppliers
About You
• Ideally previous experience assisting operations within a metal fabrication environment (other engineering backgrounds considered)
• Experience using ERP systems
• Strong understanding of fabrication drawings (CAD/CAM experience advantageous)
• Good IT skills including Excel
• Excellent communication skills
• Full UK Driving Licence
