Job Title: Quantity Surveyor – Commercial Construction

Location: Cambridge

Contract Type: Permanent

The Opportunity:
Our client, a leading main contractor specialising in commercial construction projects, is seeking a talented Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced QS to take ownership of project costs and play a key role in delivering high-quality commercial builds.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Preparing accurate cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts for commercial projects

  
  

• Monitoring and controlling project expenditure, identifying cost efficiencies

  
  

• Managing contracts, procurement, and subcontractor agreements

  
  

• Conducting valuations, measurements, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle

  
  

• Providing commercial guidance to project teams and clients

  
  

• Performing post-project cost reviews and preparing final accounts

  
  

  What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment, ideally in commercial construction

    
    

  • Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement, and cost control processes

    
    

  • Proficiency with cost management software (e.g., CostX) and Excel

    
    

  • Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills

    
    

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline

    
    

  • RICS membership or working toward it is desirable
