Salary Range: £38,976 – £47,229 per annum

Permanent – Fulltime (36hours)

Location: Ground Floor Civic Centre, 44 York Street, Twickenham, TW1 3BZ

Richmond & Wandsworth Better Service Partnership present a unique opportunity to join the Home Improvement Agency (HIA) based in Twickenham. The Home Improvement Agency (HIA) is a well-established team specialising in home adaptations and improvements for a diverse client base. In partnership with local and central government, we strive to improve living conditions and make homes safer and more accessible.

The HIA works closely with the Occupational Therapy service to meet the individual needs of clients, which enables them to continue to live independently for longer.

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Caseworker for our in-house Home Improvement Agency. The ideal candidate will have experience of working within the HIA sector or another relevant area such as Housing, Social Care or Benefits advice.

You will be required to visit residents in their homes in order to undertake financial assessments, complete a holistic checklist and an understanding of the different types of adaptations undertaken by the HIA.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • An understanding of the types of adaptations that can support independence
  • Experience working with local authorities and partner organisation (e.g. Social Services departments, OT’s, external contractors, housing associations and other housing teams)
  • Experience of working with clients who are vulnerable due to old age, physical disabilities and mental health
  • Experience undertaking holistic assessments and delivering support
  • Knowledge of housing issues and government grants
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
