We are seeking an experienced Senior Social and Environmental Business Partner to lead sustainability strategy, delivery and innovation across our Healthcare sector. In this role, you will act as the sector expert, driving social value and environmental performance, shaping best practice, and partnering with key internal and external stakeholders to maximise impact.
With national scope, this is a high influence role suited to someone who combines deep sustainability expertise with strong collaboration, communication and project leadership skills.
Job Description
As the Senior Social and Environmental Business Partner, you will be responsible for developing, embedding and continuously improving our sustainability programmes across the Healthcare sector. You will provide expert guidance on social value and environmental initiatives, lead contract based sustainability planning, and ensure high quality reporting and performance delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Act as the social and environmental sustainability subject matter expert for the Healthcare sector.
Lead the development, implementation and improvement of sector sustainability programmes.
Oversee delivery and reporting of social and environmental management plans across contracts.
Provide expert guidance to operational teams to support contract specific sustainability plans.
Chair and lead the sector sustainability champion network.
Manage or support sustainability experts within the sector.
Serve as the primary point of contact for sector partnerships and client sustainability meetings.
Embed the enterprise sustainability strategy into sector activity and service delivery.
Ensure use of relevant communications and materials to support sustainability implementation.
Identify opportunities within the sustainability framework for products and services.
Drive continuous improvement and high performance across sustainability programmes.
Monitor upcoming legislation and market trends, ensuring sector alignment with best practice.
Collaborate with central functions to ensure sector needs are supported and enabled.
Support wider business initiatives to maximise sustainability impact.
Travel nationally to meet stakeholders and support programme delivery.
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
Strong understanding of UK sustainability and social value legislation, particularly relating to government and healthcare contracts.
Proven experience delivering and reporting social value and environmental programmes.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
Experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities and diverse stakeholders.
Ability to work with both qualitative and quantitative data and data management systems.
Knowledge of the built environment and facilities management sector.
Ability to articulate technical sustainability topics including energy, water, carbon, environmental management, biodiversity and circularity.
Strong project and change management capabilities.
Skilled in analysing data and providing insight to stakeholders.
Knowledge of government and healthcare sustainability topics and targets.
Ability to define, monitor and report on KPIs, risks and project benefits.
Demonstrated ability to lead others, build trust and communicate clearly.
