Summary
The ANIMATE-fUSiON study aims to develop a novel multi-modal functional brain imaging system for newborn babies. This is a collaborative project with the Department of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering at UCL London, INSERM, Paris and NeoLAB based in the Evelyn Perinatal Imaging Centre, Rosie Hospital, Cambridge. You will be based at The Rosie Hospital, Cambridge.
You will be responsible for the provision of high quality, patient focused clinical research for the ANIMATE-fUSiON study. This post is funded by Action Medical Research (AMR) to build on previous research studies with the development of cotside brain imaging. The post-holder will assist in developing, supporting and promoting involvement in clinical research in the Cambridge Centre for Perinatal Neuroscience, specifically with the ANIMATE-fUSiON AMR grant.
The post is funded for 24 months at 37.5 hours although part-time job share would be considered.
Working closely with the neonatal multidisciplinary team, NICU, Cambridge, the key responsibility is to ensure successful completion of the project as laid out in the study protocol, specifically: to help identify eligible study/clinical trial participants; recruitment and informed consent; provision of information and support for patients/participants; co-ordination of study/trial patient treatment, assessment, follow-up and data collection according to specific clinical study/trial protocols, in accordance with ICH Good Clinical Practice, Research Governance and EU Clinical Trials legislation.
The post holder will be closely involved in recruiting infants, obtaining informed parental consent and assisting the NICU research, clinical team and research scientists working on the project. The post-holder will be required to ensure the carers, nursing and medical teams are informed of the study procedures for each participant.
The post holder will be expected to be a neonatal nurse with experience of working in a busy NICU. It is desirable, but not essential, that the post holder has prior clinical research experience.
The post holder will be expected to organize their own workload to ensure that all components of the research programme are completed within the agreed timeframe as laid out in the ANIMATE-fUSiON AMR grant.
