The Opportunity

We're looking for passionate and experienced Specialist Support Workers to join a brand-new service in Knowsley. You'll provide 24-hour care and support to one young adult female transitioning from hospital into her own fully refurbished bungalow. She has autism, sensory needs, and complex behaviours, and will receive 3:1 person-centred support to help her thrive in her new home and community

Job Purpose

To deliver specialist, complex care and support, empowering individuals to live independently and maintain control over their lives, in line with their personalised support plans. The role supports individuals to actively engage within their home environment and local community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide health-related and social care support for individuals with complex needs, including Acquired Brain Injury, Spinal Injury, Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Mental Health needs.
  • Support individuals who display behaviours that challenge using appropriate, safe strategies and techniques.
  • Administer medication and manage pain safely in line with care plans.
  • Manage and monitor medical equipment and supplies, ensuring timely reordering.
  • Maintain competency by attending mandatory and specialist clinical training.
  • Record and report incidents promptly in line with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Support individuals to contribute to and develop personalised support plans.
  • Promote independence, informed choice, and decision-making in line with the Mental Capacity Act.
  • Respect and support cultural beliefs, relationships, and individual lifestyle choices.
  • Support individuals to maintain their home environment and access their community.
  • Encourage positive risk-taking while maintaining safety and wellbeing.
  • Safeguard individuals from abuse, neglect, or harm, reporting concerns appropriately in line with safeguarding and whistleblowing procedures.
