Our School Health Service works to design and deliver services in partnership with local people. We also provide key services that work across wider localities and the city-wide footprint. We’re committed to achieving the highest standards of individual care for our city’s diverse communities. At the heart of this is the ‘Healthy Child Programme’ which,through early intervention, will positively influence health outcomes for children and families in Manchester.
As a result of service transformation an exciting opportunity has arisen in Manchester’s School Nursing service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic School Health Screener who wants to make a difference by working as part of a team to deliver the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP) and the core screening programme offered at school entry.
37.5 hours Term Time Only
You will expected to contribute to the planning of the NCMP and Core Screening Programmes to school age children in a variety of settings under supervision.
To work as part of a team to deliver the NCMP and Core Screening programme in schools and other settings
To accurately record and document the outcome of the tests undertaken as part of these programmes, making appropriate referrals if indicated; and advising parents of the outcome of such tests; and explaining and supporting parents to understand any action/intervention required
To provide administrative support in relation to all aspects of work undertaken within the Manchester Child Health record.
