Summary
Thepostholderisresponsibleformaintaining,repairinganddecoratingoftheTrusts properties and equipment to Trust’s standard.
· To ensure all Health and Safety Control and Asbestos, COSHH and permit to work systems are adhered to at all times. Reporting any non-safe practices or faulty equipment which could affect their own safety and that of any employee throughout the Trust, or Trust property.
· To follow departmental and the Trust’s operating policies and procedures when undertaking this role.
· Requiredtowork onhis/her owninitiativeunsupervised withinthestandardoperating procedures and prioritise the work schedule.
· To maintain good working relationships and communicate effectively, especially on the routine technical information with the recipients who may not be specialists in the technical field.
To carry out work relating to building and fabric planned and breakdown maintenance, small improvement work and minor Capital Schemes as directed.
To be responsible for tools, plant and materials which are used within the scope of the Estates Department.
To work outside his/her trade in the event of an emergency or as directed by the Estates Officer
To participate in appropriate training as required by Estates Management Staff.
Tobeflexible intheirapproachto work,toplanandorganisetheirown work toprovidean efficient service to all wards and departments
To negotiate with persuasive skills to gain co-operation and access within wards anddepartments.
To observe and comply with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to Health and Safety legislation and in accordance with Health Technical Memorandums (HTM) and Health Building Notifications (HBN).
To comply with Trust’s infection control and best practice guidelines, liaise with Infection Control Team as appropriate.
UndertakeallnecessaryPlannedPreventativeMaintenance(PPM)asdirected.
To investigate and carry out work raised by the Estates Management/Supervisory Staffon maintenance requisitions and report back any faults or materials required.
To plan, organise and priorities their own work to provide an efficient service to all wards and departments in accordance with set Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and adhere to all Trust policies and procedures.
