The Estates Hard FM Team is responsible for the day to day repairs, PPM and operational testing for a wide range of building services and equipment located in the Trust.
We are looking to recruit a highly motivated and flexible Health and Safety Advisor to act as a focus for all fire, health and safety matters in the organisation with accountability for fire safety matters reporting up to the Site Director of Estates and Facilities Management (Director with health and safety responsibility).
As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will be a proactive and collaborative team member, providing expert advice on health and safety matters, specifically focused on fire safety. You will assist in ensuring compliance with NHS Health Technical Memorandum 05:01 (HTM05:01) and maintaining appropriate levels of fire precautions across Trust premises. You will also foster strong working relationships with the Local Fire Brigade and other relevant stakeholders.
In this role, you will be the designated competent person for fire safety, ensuring the Trust adheres to all aspects of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (RRO). You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure the hospital environment remains fire safe for patients, staff, and visitors, supporting the Trust's commitment to care and well-being.
The Health and Safety Advisors acts as a focus for all Health and safety matters in the organisation with accountability for safety matters reporting up to the Royal London Hospital and Mile End Hospital Director of Estates and Facilities Management via the Fire, Health and Safety Manager (with fire, Health and safety responsibility).
By the provision of competent advice, assisting in providing and maintaining high levels of safety provisions within Trust premises in line with The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (HASAWA); NHS Health Technical Memorandum’s, British Standards and Best Practices ACOPs under relevant legal requirements.
As the competent person for health and safety, the post holder will ensure that that the Trust complies with all aspects of the Health and Safety at work Act and related legislation. The post holder will work closely with all relevant parties within the hospital and externally to ensure a safe environment for patients/staff/visitors and to facilitate sustained care and well-being in relation to Health and Safety
