£15.83 per hour
Monday-Friday, 9am-5.30pm
We are currently seeking a Temporary Assistant Arts Development Officer to join our public sector client in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator with strong organisational and IT skills who is interested in supporting the delivery of arts funding and development work.
About the Role
The Assistant Arts Development Officer will play a key role in implementing grant payment and monitoring processes, while providing high‑quality administrative and secretarial support across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
The post holder will work flexibly and may be required to carry out a range of duties, including:
- Providing administrative support and backup as required
- Preparing reports, briefing papers and documentation
- Drafting correspondence independently or under direction
- Maintaining filing systems and databases
- Recording, distributing, and managing incoming mail and documents
- Handling telephone calls, redirecting where necessary and responding to queries
- Preparing agendas, minutes and paperwork for meetings
- Arranging and setting up meetings
- Attending meetings within the organisation
- Providing cover for colleagues during periods of absence
- Supporting statutory compliance processes
- Undertaking any additional duties appropriate to the grade
✅ Essential Criteria
1. Education- A good standard of education to at least A‑Level or equivalent, plus GCSE English Language and Maths (Grades A-C or equivalent)
- At least 2 years' experience (within the last 4 years) in a role involving:
- General administration
- Administration of projects, schemes, or initiatives
- Verification of data input
- Maintenance of manual and computerised record systems
- Experience providing complex secretarial support, including:
- Preparing correspondence, reports and minutes
- Confident telephone handling
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office and Excel, with experience using email and internet systems
- Experience with MS Access is desirable but not essential
