Summary


We are seeking an enthusiastic resident doctor who has an interest in Paediatrics and wants experience before committing to a full training programme.

The successful candidate will join the existing team in a modern hospital with a well equipped children’s department and Local Neonatal Unit (level 2).

While this post does not carry formal training recognition, it does provide an opportunity to care for a tremendously varied group of patients in a large paediatric department in a busy District General Hospital.This post holder would join a team of Consultants, Specialty Doctors, and resident doctors.

The responsibilities will include a combination of Registrar level night duties alongside day shifts, and an opportunity to develop outpatient skills.

There will be opportunity for teaching, and a focus on supporting the middle grade trainees would be expected.

You will be assigned a clinical supervisor who will oversee your continued professional development. Applications from doctors who would like to work part time will be considered.

• Provide care of acute patients under the guidance of the senior staff

• Be encouraged to participate in audits

• Perform duties in occasional emergencies and unforeseen circumstances at the request of the appropriate consultant, in consultation where practicable with their colleagues both senior and junior.

• Comply with Infection prevention and control procedures which is the responsibility of everyone. Employees are required to strictly adhere to the infection control policy
