Estates Support Technician (1.0 FTE)

Location: Forres, IV36 2SH (campus based)
Salary: Grade 3 (£24,685 - £27,319 per annum, pro rata)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week
Applications are invited for an Estates Support Technician, in the Estates department at GSA to carry out routine, planned and reactive maintenance works across the campus, as directed by the Minor Works Manager. Working primarily as a sole operator, you will be supported by the GSA Estates team to perform a number of support services tasks as well as provide a minor works, reactive repair service across our Highlands and Islands campus. Will also be required to carry out minor refurbishments and upgrade works as they may arise across all GSA occupied properties within the Altyre Campus, including student halls of residence.
You will be expected to provide information and reports on ongoing repairs and to liaise and coordinate the work of external contractors as required.
Person Specification
The following experience and qualifications are necessary for the position:
• The postholder must have significant experience in maintenance work and be able to demonstrate relevant skills and competencies. (Essential)
• A broad knowledge of building maintenance. (Essential)
• An effective understanding and good working knowledge of health and safety procedures. (Desirable)
• Ability to organise safe methods of working. (Essential)
• A full clean driving licence is essential.

• Team player with the ability to integrate and work well with others
• Able to respond flexibly to differing and competing demands.
• Ability to work under pressure.
