Veolia HGV Class 2 Driver - Hiring Event


Salary: £35,997 per annum, plus Veolia benefits

Overtime Available *: Week days paid x1.5, Saturdays paid x1.5, Sundays paid x2.0

Our drivers can currently earn up to an additional £1000 per month in voluntary overtime based on working an average 40 hours overtime per month.

Sign-On Bonus: £750 after 1 month of employment and another £750 after 12 months

Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday - Friday 06:00 - 14:18

Location: Veolia Brent Municipal, 2-7 Marsh Road, HA0 1ES

What you'll be doing;

  • Driving 26 tonne collection vehicles on a planned route
  • Helping out loading bins & containers when required.
  • Completing daily checks of the vehicle as per our driver operator handbook.
  • Using onboard technology to complete work notes.
  • Complying with all traffic laws and legislation including security and weight of loads.
  • Ensuring that the carriageway is left in a clean condition and any spillages are cleaned up.

What we're looking for;

Essential:

  • Valid UK Class 2 Licence
  • An up-to-date CPC / DIGI card.
  • A can-do attitude and good time-management skills.
  • Being a team player is key to ensuring our collections run smoothly.

Desirable:

  • Previous Class 2 driving experience
  • Prior experience in the Waste industry
  • Rear steering experience/understanding

On the day you may be asked to complete a driving assessment as part of the interview process, so please ensure you are potentially prepared for this.


Please note, if you have more than 6 points against your licence, or have DR10, or DG10 points, you will not be suitable for this position. We also require candidates to bring all relevant documents with them to the hiring day; Right to Work (birth certificate, passport, I.D, settled status etc.) and all driving documents (UK Driving Licence, Class 2 Licence, CPC, Tacho Card etc).
