Are you a dynamic and committed Occupational Therapist with a passion for rehabilitation? Pulross ward are seeking a Band 7 to join our friendly multidisciplinary team serving 14 intermediate care beds for Lambeth and Southwark.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Band 7 or an experienced Band 6 looking to progress within a supportive team. Applicants should have experience of delivering high quality, evidence-based rehabilitation to people with a variety of complex co-morbidities and falls.
The post holder will provide clinical leadership, supervision and support to junior staff and be a source of clinical expertise to the multi-disciplinary team. The post offers opportunities to develop leadership skills by enabling you to take a key role in a number of exciting service development initiatives.
Excellent communication skills and an ability to prioritise a caseload of complex patients are essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate flexibility, creativity and the ability to support change in a fast-paced environment. Whilst the funding for the post is full-time, we would be happy to hear from people who wish to work more flexibly.

• To perform highly specialised and advanced assessments and treatments as part of the Pulross Rehab Ward Intermediate Care Therapy team. The caseload consists of adults and older people with a wide range of complex pathologies, functional difficulties and disabilities.
•
To act as lead Occupational Therapist for the Pulross Intermediate Care beds and alongside the Deputy Clinical Lead be responsible for the day-to-day co-ordination of this service. The post holder will provide clinical leadership and a source of clinical expertise to facilitate seamless rehabilitation of clients.
•
Provide supervision and facilitate professional development with Occupational Therapy staff, Therapy Assistants and Occupational Therapy students as required.
•
To work autonomously, frequently as a lone practitioner and at times in conjunction with team colleagues, across a variety of locations within the community including client’s homes and residential care settings to meet the individual needs of the multi-cultural population in an inner-city area

Work within and across professional and organisational boundaries, liaising with health and social care professionals and voluntary agencies to deliver individualised and expert care to a high standard to clients.

It is essential the post holder be able to work their hours flexibly and contribute fully to both existing and new rotas. This includes 7 day working and non- traditional shift patterns.
The Community Rehabilitation and Falls Service is part of the Integrated Local Services directorate. It delivers physiotherapy and occupational therapy to adults and older people with illness, injury or disability, helping them to be more independent in their daily activities. The clients have a wide range of functional difficulties, long-term conditions and disabilities and many have multiple pathologies and complex medical conditions. They may be seen in a 14 bed Intermediate Care Unit, in their own homes and in health and community centres within Lambeth and Southwark. The service leads the provision of Falls prevention and management of clients within both boroughs providing individual and group exercise programmes
The post holder will mainly work from the Pulross Centre in Brixton, but will be expected to work from other centres/locations within the boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark as required.
To support the service's commitment to meeting client needs and delivering excellence, it is essential the post holder be able to work their hours flexibly and contribute fully to both existing and new rotas. This may include 7 day working and non- traditional shift patterns.
