A friendly and inclusive Primary School is seeking a Year 1 Class Teacher to join their team on a one-year fixed-term maternity cover. The school has a solution in place for the summer term, but is now planning ahead to secure continuity beyond that point.
This role would suit an experienced KS1 teacher or an ECT looking for a supportive environment with clear routines and a strong focus on early learning.
Full responsibility for a Year 1 class
Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the KS1 curriculum
Supporting pupils through the transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1
Creating a nurturing, structured and inclusive classroom environment
Working collaboratively with colleagues, leaders and families
Experienced Year 1 or KS1 teachers
ECTs seeking a supportive fixed-term role
Teachers with a strong understanding of early phonics and early reading
Practitioners who value consistency, teamwork and pupil wellbeing
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, including during training placements
Strong classroom practice and positive behaviour management
Commitment to safeguarding and inclusive practice
Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
