Prospero Teaching is looking for a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with ADHD, Autism, and Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) at one of our partnered primary schools. The pupil occasionally presents with challenging behaviour, so we are seeking someone confident, calm, and nurturing in their approach.
- Provide consistent 1:1 support to a Year 3 pupil with a range of complex needs.
- Implement strategies to reduce anxiety, support emotional regulation, and promote positive learning experiences.
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals.
- Support the pupil in developing independence and accessing the curriculum at their pace.
- Use de-escalation strategies when needed and build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil.
- Experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, PDA, or challenging behaviour.
- A calm, patient, and adaptable attitude.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain boundaries.
- Genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply).
- Right to work in the UK.
