Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist - London
Location: London
Working Pattern: On-site
Contract Type: Temporary / Ad-hoc
Pay Rate: From £40 p/h
We are looking for an experienced Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to support a Local Authority with initial communication assessments, therapy delivery, and contributions to the EHCNA and EHCP processes. You will work closely with schools, families, and LA teams to support accurate identification of needs and high‑quality outcomes for children with SEND.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Clinical Work
- Complete initial and statutory assessments for EHCNAs.
- Produce clear, outcome-focused EHCP reports.
Therapy & Intervention
- Deliver direct and indirect therapy across early years, mainstream, or specialist settings.
- Provide programmes, strategies, and guidance to schools and families.
Multi-Professional Working
- Attend multi‑disciplinary meetings and contribute to EHCNAs, annual reviews, and SEND decisions.
- Liaise effectively with schools, families, and LA professionals.
Professional Standards
- Maintain accurate clinical records and follow HCPC, RCSLT and safeguarding standards.
Essential Requirements
- BSc/MSc Speech and Language Therapy.
- HCPC registration.
- 2+ years paediatric experience.
- Strong assessment, therapy, and report‑writing skills.
- Knowledge of SEND and EHCP processes.
- Enhanced DBS + professional indemnity/public liability insurance.
Desirable
- RCSLT membership.
- Experience in LA SEND services, schools or specialist settings.
- Skills in autism, DLD, AAC, speech sound disorders.
- Ability to deliver training.
Additional Information

- Safeguarding and vetting checks must be completed.
