University College London Hospitals is seeking to appoint a Locum Consultant in Neurology with a special interest in Multiple Sclerosis and CAR-T Neurology with a commitment to high quality patient care, innovative service models, delivery of performance targets, and excellence in education/training.



CV required for application

This is a 4.5PA locum Consultant Neurologist post. The post-holder will deliver two specialist Multiple Sclerosis clinics per week with additional time for inpatient consultations, CAR-T work, patient administration and supporting professional activities.

Direct Clinical Care Activities

The post holder will be expected to undertake all appropriate direct clinical care (DCC) activities to ensure the effective management of the patients under their care. This will primarily be through a weekly specialist MS clinic but additional inpatient care may be required.

The Multiple Sclerosis Service at NHNNis a multi-professional team attending to approximately 6000, people with Multiple Sclerosis the entire disease trajectory. This includes the provision and safety monitoring of MS disease modifying treatments (DMTs), with approximately 3500 patients currently receiving treatments.


The consultant body works within a multi-disciplinary environment alongside nurse specialists, therapists and pharmacists specialising in MS. There are strong links with neuro-rehabilitation services. The multi-disciplinary team has substantial expertise designing new models of care, using co-design and innovation methodologies with patients and families, contributing to strategic boards across the NHS, including NICE Technology Appraisal (TA) group of NICE, Association of British Neurologists, NHS England and Neurology Academy.

The consultant body is nationally and internationally recognised for clinical research. Examples are leadership of the Progressive MS Alliance, ECTRIMS, European MAGNIMS MRI consortium, research activity such as NIHR funded PITMS and REFINE-MS studies, MRI development programmes and MS charity roles.
