We are looking to recruit a reliable and customer focussed Trade Counter & Warehouse assistant to join our team. This role is a mix of customer-facing sales counter duties and warehouse operations, supporting the smooth day-day running of the business.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within the plumbing trade, particularly dealing with trade customers, and a strong understanding of plumbing products and materials.
Key responsibilities
Trade counter/ customer service
Serving trade and retail customers at the sales counter
Providing product advice and support based on plumbing knowledge
Processing sales, orders and returns accurately
Handling telephone and email enquiries
Maintaining a professional and helpful approach at all times
Warehouse duties
Booking in deliveries and checking goods against delivery notes
Organising stock and maintaining a tidy, safe warehouse
Picking and packing customer orders
Carrying out regular stock takes
Assisting with loading and unloading deliveries

Proven experience within the plumbing trade
Previous experience serving customers in a trade counter or merchant environment
Good knowledge of plumbing products, fittings and materials
Strong communication and customer service skills
Basic IT skills (order systems, stock control)
Ability to work as part of a team and independently
Must have good timekeeping and organisational skills
