We're looking for a User Researcher to join Nest’s Customer Experience team and help shape the future of our products and services. In this role, you’ll dive deep into the behaviours, needs, and pain points of our members, employers, and partners, bringing rich insight and evidence into every stage of our design process. Working closely with Service Design, UX/UI, Product, and Data & Insight teams, you’ll lead research across the full customer lifecycle, turning complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations that drive inclusive, user‑centred experiences. If you're naturally curious, empathetic, and passionate about simplifying complexity, this is a chance to influence meaningful outcomes for millions of customers.
The minimum criteria for this role are:
- Skilled in diverse research methods such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, ethnography, and data analysis
- Familiarity with accessibility, inclusion and ethical research practices, including user consent, privacy, and safeguarding vulnerable populations
- Ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, influencing product and service design using evidence
- Experienced in creating compelling research reports and customer insight
- Ability to balance rigour with pace in iterative design process
- Experienced in working with designers and product teams to shape customer outcomes

The Customer Experience team creates user-focused experiences by combining product ownership, design thinking, and business insight. We're responsible for shaping the experience across all customer groups—members, employer providers, and distribution partners—through various channels.
We prioritise delivering value through continuous feedback from customers and colleagues. Prototypes and mock-ups help us test ideas and refine experiences, while data guides our decisions and solution design.
Product owners lead teams in our b2b and b2c domains, prioritising features and owning the product roadmap. Our service design team focus on end-to-end journeys and service interaction contributing to a cohesive experience. UX/UI designers turn insights into accessible, user-friendly interfaces. Business analysts define requirements and identify opportunities to improve.
We focus on delivering meaningful, easy-to-use experiences for our members, employers, and partners—driven by a product-led mindset.
