• Clear understanding of safeguarding responsibilities

Main Purpose of the Role

To deliver high quality teaching and learning to Year 4 pupils, ensuring all children are supported, challenged and inspired to achieve their very best.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

• Plan and deliver engaging, well structured lessons in line with the National Curriculum

• Use formative assessment and data to inform planning and raise attainment

• Create a supportive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment

• Adapt teaching for SEND and pupils with differing needs

Assessment and Recording

• Assess, record and report on pupils’ progress and attainment

• Provide timely, high quality feedback to pupils to move learning forward

• Use data tracking to monitor progress and inform interventions

Behaviour and Relationships

• Maintain high standards of behaviour through positive, consistent strategies

• Build strong, respectful relationships with pupils

• Promote the school’s values and expectations at all times

Collaboration and Professional Development

• Work collaboratively within the Year 4 team and across the wider school

• Participate in staff meetings, training and professional development

• Engage with reflective practice to continually improve teaching

Wider School Contribution

• Support extracurricular activities and wider school initiatives

• Foster positive relationships with parents and carers, encouraging engagement in school life

Safeguarding

• Uphold all safeguarding responsibilities and follow school policies
