What skills and experience we're looking for

Due to increased pupil numbers, we are looking to recruit an exceptional Early Years Practitioner to join our Monkeys Childcare team. This role involves working with our youngest children, aged 2–4 years old, and supporting us in providing a warm, nurturing and stimulating early years environment.

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic practitioner who can support high‑quality childcare and early education, and who shares our commitment to inclusion, safeguarding and working in strong partnership with families.

We are looking for someone who can:

• Assist children with settling into routines and confidently support their wellbeing and development.
• Act as a Key Worker for designated children, building strong, positive relationships with them and their families.
• Plan, prepare, evaluate and adapt learning experiences in line with the EYFS and children’s needs.
• Regularly observe and assess children’s progress and use this to inform next steps.
• Promote positive behaviour, values and attitudes, following established policies.
• Create and maintain a safe, stimulating learning environment — setting up, clearing away and ensuring equipment is safe.
• Work collaboratively as part of a professional, motivated team and communicate well with children, parents and colleagues.
• Show flexibility, creativity and a commitment to delivering outstanding childcare.
• Undertake duties that contribute to the effective running of the provision.

Essential qualifications and experience include:

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Early Years/Childcare.
• Recent safeguarding training; willingness to obtain Paediatric First Aid quickly if not already held.
• Experience working in an Early Years setting, with understanding of the EYFS and child development.
• Experience supporting children with SEND.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to form positive, professional relationships with families.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.
