What skills and experience we're looking for
St. John’s Walham Green CE Primary School are seeking an inspirational Higher Teaching Assistant to join our school and support us in meeting a wide range of needs:
Qualifications & Experience:
• Experience of working with relevant age groups within a primary school learning environment (other settings may be considered).
• Experience working with both EY pupils and UKS2 pupils is preferred.
• Strong written English and Maths skills with a GCSE in Maths and English of a C/5 or above.
• HLTA status confirmed (or pending if still completing qualification).
• Successful experience of working with children with additional needs.
Knowledge & Understanding:
• Knowledge of strategies to support pupils with additional needs and ability to successfully implement these strategies.
• Able to work constructively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities.
• Strong skills in IT.
• Ability to relate well to children and adults and a professional tone when communicating with families and external professionals.
Personal Qualities
• Must be committed to looking after the welfare of the children
• Must be flexible to meet the individual needs of children
• Must be proactive and confident to complete tasks with the minimum of supervision
• Strong organisational skills and record keeping
• Must be willing to learn new skills and commit to your own professional development
• Must be willing to be a member of a team
• Must keep school matters confidential
• Must have a sense of humor and fun
Physical Health
• Must be able to lift and carry materials

The above criteria will be assessed at interview through a range of tasks and a panel interview.
