Are you an experienced RMN with a strong background in dementia care and a passion for leading high-performing clinical teams — but looking for a better work-life balance away from long shifts?
We’re working with a well-regarded provider to recruit a Unit Manager to lead a specialist dementia unit. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse leader who wants to combine hands-on clinical expertise with operational and people management responsibility in a supportive, quality-focused environment.
The Role
As Unit Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the unit, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred care. You’ll lead, motivate and develop the nursing and care team while maintaining high clinical standards and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Provide visible, values-led leadership to the multidisciplinary team
Oversee care planning and clinical governance within the unit
Ensure best practice in dementia and complex mental health care
Support, mentor and develop staff, including supervision and appraisals
Manage staffing levels, rotas and resource allocation
Work closely with senior management, families and external professionals
Drive continuous improvement and positive inspection outcomes
Requirements
Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with active NMC PIN
Strong experience working with dementia and complex needs
Previous leadership or senior nurse experience
Sound knowledge of safeguarding, CQC standards and clinical governance
Excellent communication and team-building skills
A proactive, compassionate and resilient approach
What’s on Offer
Competitive salary of £45,000 – £55,000 depending on experience
Primarily Monday–Friday, 9–5 working pattern
Supportive senior leadership team
Opportunities for progression and professional development
If you’re ready to step into a rewarding leadership role where you can truly make a difference to residents and staff alike, we’d love to hear from you.
