Summary

Money Matters Support Worker

Location: Norwich

Hours: 20 per week (subject to Four Day Week scheme after probation)

Contract: Fixed Term until 30th September 2027 (subject to funding)

Salary: £14,054 (FTE £26,000)

Leave: 23 days p.a. (pro rata) + bank holidays

About the Role

As a Money Matters Support Worker within the Future Support service, you'll provide personalised financial support to individuals facing financial difficulties in Norwich. You'll manage a full caseload, conduct financial assessments, develop tailored action plans, and deliver compassionate, outcome-focused guidance on budgeting, debt management, and accessing welfare benefits. This role is part of the Money Matters: Future Resilience project, which combines early intervention support with incentivised debt reduction strategies to build long-term financial resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one financial support and guidance to clients at risk of financial crisis
• Manage a full caseload, conducting thorough financial assessments and developing tailored action plans
• Support clients with budgeting, debt reduction strategies, and accessing welfare benefits and services
• Monitor and review client progress, adjusting plans as needed to reflect changing circumstances
• Support the match-funding programme, helping clients reach debt reduction milestones
• Engage with the community through outreach activities and contribute to radio shows and podcasts
• Maintain accurate case notes, financial records, and reporting for compliance and evaluation
• Ensure safeguarding, data protection, and health & safety compliance

About You

You have substantial experience providing personalised financial support and guidance to individuals facing financial difficulties. You understand financial management, budgeting, debt reduction strategies, and the barriers disadvantaged individuals face. You're skilled at managing a diverse caseload, conducting one-on-one sessions, and developing tailored financial action plans. You can navigate complex financial situations with empathy and clarity, building strong, trusting relationships that empower clients to take control of their financial futures. You're proactive, resourceful, resilient, and a strong advocate for those you support.
