Are you super organised, people focused and ready to play a key role in supporting students on their journey into college? Our busy Admissions team is at the heart of the learner experience — and we’re looking for an Admissions Officer who can bring energy, professionalism and exceptional customer service to this front facing role.
This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK’s top performing colleges, supporting thousands of applicants each year across Further Education, Adult Learning and Apprenticeships. No two days are the same — you’ll be helping students apply, supporting parents with queries, keeping our data accurate, and ensuring every applicant has a smooth, positive experience from first enquiry to enrolment.
You’ll be the friendly face of the College at Reception, the welcoming voice on the switchboard, and a key contact for applicants, staff, families and external agencies. Accuracy, communication and organisation are essential — but so is the ability to stay cheerful, adaptable and supportive in a fast paced environment.
What you’ll be doing:
• Supporting the full online and paper-based admissions process.
• Providing excellent customer service face to face, by phone and via email.
• Reviewing applications, checking details (including EHCP/ALS indicators) and contacting students/parents where needed.
• Managing international enquiries and maintaining progress reports
• Working across Reception, switchboard and enquiries as required and travel to provide application support to year 11 students in schools.
• Updating promotional and information materials.
• Assisting with admin tasks including data entry, photocopying, ID cards and mailouts.
• Supporting key events such as interviews, Open Events and induction days.
• Ensuring records meet audit standards.
• Liaising with internal teams and external partners.
• Contributing to cross college duties including invigilation and events.
We’re looking for someone who:
• Has excellent people skills and a confident, professional telephone manner
• Has experience in administration or customer facing roles
• Works accurately and is confident using spreadsheets and data systems
• Stays calm under pressure and meets deadlines
• Is adaptable, flexible and keen to learn new systems
• Can represent the College professionally at all times
• Brings positivity and a student focused mindset to everything they do
If you're organised, motivated and ready to be part of a fast moving team that helps shape the student journey from day one, we’d love to hear from you.
We offer a generous package with benefits including up to 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays and College closure days, LGPS pension scheme, relocation package, free on-site parking and a variety of on-site benefits and discounts.• Curriculum Vitae are not accepted – Application Forms only.
• We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if a suitable candidate is found.
• Interviews may be held on a rolling basis.
