JOB SUMMARY To provide clinical and strategic leadership and management to the psychology teams and services for people with Intellectual Disabilities operated by Iris Care Group, spanning inpatient, residential education and community social care services. To provide leadership, regarding psychological assessment and treatment delivery, to psychologists and other members of the MDT who deliver psychological interventions to people with an intellectual disability across ICG. To develop, implement and evaluate, along with other staff qualified in the provision of Positive Behavioural Support, coherent and evidence based programmes for the delivery of such interventions by the MDT. To develop systems within the organisation to ensure that positive approaches to challenging behaviour become embedded into the general functioning and culture of the organisation. To ensure that clinical input is integrated with operational delivery and is supportive of identified person centred outcomes for all service users within the service. To work closely with operational staff to achieve this. To provide specialised psychological assessment and therapy to a defined caseload of service users, which reflects relevant knowledge and understanding of Intellectual Disabilities, challenging behaviour and Autism. To contribute to the development of local team policies and procedures in order to facilitate improvements in service quality and to formulate and deliver implementation plans in order to support continuous improvement. To be familiar with and to utilise formal quality improvement methodology in order to inform and deliver practice improvements. To train other professionals and contribute to the training of Applied Psychologists To utilise specialised research skills for audit, policy and service development, and research. To liaise, as a senior clinician, with commissioners and statutory bodies as appropriate. To support the role of the Clinical Director and deputise as necessary to ensure the effective running and delivery of the clinical services directorate. To work autonomously in accordance with The British Psychological Society Code of Conduct, Ethical Principles & Guidelines, and the overall framework of the teams policies and procedures. To work to the professional guidelines for Clinical Psychologists as directed by the Health and Care Professions council
