Ward 21 at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary are seeking an enthusiastic individual who have a passion for caring for older adults. This role requires a person who has previous care experience, whether this be personal or in a professional setting. The person must have reliable IT, written and verbal communication skills, is creative and practical; works well with teams and is confident. We expect you to be willing to learn and develop your skills, also prioritise your workload and contribute to new ideas to improve the care and experience of our patients.
The role of engagement support worker involves interacting with the older and sometimes younger adult on a one to one and group basis in a ward area. Resources such as games, books, films, TV, art, crafts, hairdressing, reading and music are available to enhance the engagement experience. Training will be provided including Trust and ward Induction.
Shift times are during the day; these posts require some weekend and bank holiday working as part of the ward rotas. You will be ward based and there will be times when you will be asked to move areas to support as needed.
