Senior Sous Chef | Reigate, Surrey | Full Time | Up to £36,000 DOE

Our client is a well-established and respected golf club, offering a welcoming, professional environment and high standards across hospitality and facilities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced chef who wants to continue cooking at a high level, take real responsibility in the kitchen, and enjoy a healthier work–life balance than traditional hospitality roles.

What’s in it for you?

• Genuine work–life balance compared to traditional hospitality roles
• No late-night finishes as standard
• Structured rotas with sensible, predictable hours
• A professional, well-organised kitchen environment
• The opportunity to work closely with a high-calibre, award-winning Head Chef
• A stable, growing operation with long-term ambition
• Supportive management that values kitchen culture and wellbeing

Are you the right person for the job?

• Proven experience at Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef level
• Strong focus on fresh food and consistent execution
• Confident leading by example in a busy kitchen environment
• Organised, reliable, and comfortable working as part of a close-knit team
• Sound understanding of food safety, allergens, and kitchen compliance
• Experience in golf clubs, hotels, or event-led kitchens is an advantage but not essential

What will your role look like?

• Supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
• Deputising for the Head Chef when required
• Being hands-on during service and leading kitchen sections
• Delivering consistently high standards across members’ dining, bar food, society catering, weddings, and private events
• Preparing, cooking, and presenting fresh, homemade food using quality ingredients
• Training, mentoring, and developing junior chefs
• Maintaining excellent hygiene, safety, and organisational standards
• Assisting with menu development, stock control, and food cost management
