Job Description

A major infrastructure project in Essex is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support delivery works on an infrastructure site within a rail environment. The role will focus on engineering control, quality assurance, and technical compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting out using GPS / Total Station

  • Managing and maintaining Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)

  • Overseeing QA documentation, including:

    • As-built records

    • Check sheets

    • Method statements and inspections

  • Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and programme

  • Liaising with site management, subcontractors, and client representatives

  • Identifying and resolving engineering and quality-related issues

  • Supporting health & safety compliance linked to engineering activities

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Site Engineer on civil or infrastructure projects

  • Strong setting out experience

  • Good knowledge of QA procedures and ITP management

  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of quality

  • Valid CSCS card

  • Rail experience preferred but not essential

Package

  • Up to £300 per day (maximum)

  • Ltd Company or CIS payments accepted

  • Long-term opportunity on a live station redevelopment project
