Site Engineer - Civils

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support delivery of a £22m civils scheme on the Brighton seafront. Working for a specialist subcontractor, you will be responsible for setting out, quality control, and day-to-day site engineering activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and to programme in a live coastal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting out for major civils works including groundworks, RC structures, drainage, highways, and public realm elements

  • Providing engineering support to site management and subcontractor teams

  • Ensuring works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications, and industry standards

  • Managing as-built records and assisting with RAMS and ITPs

  • Carrying out site surveys, checks, and measurements

  • Liaising with the main contractor, client representatives, and design teams

  • Resolving technical and engineering issues on site

  • Monitoring quality and ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards are met at all times

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer on medium to large-scale civils projects

  • Strong setting-out experience using GPS/Total Station equipment

  • Experience with RC structures, drainage, highways, or coastal works preferred

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications

  • CSCS card (minimum requirement)

  • SMSTS or SSSTS desirable

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills

  • Full UK driving licence
