Crynodeb
Looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an award winning volume house builder based in Guildford. This is a fast-paced role offering significant responsibility across large, complex sites, requiring strong commercial judgement, creativity and a proactive approach to managing risk and value.
Key Responsibilities-
Take full commercial responsibility for large residential sites (including developments of 200+ units)

Manage budgets, valuations and cost reporting, including accurate forecasting of final accounts

Maintain full cost and value reconciliation and control expenditure within approved limits

Lead value engineering across all trades to achieve best value and remain ahead of market trends

Prepare site start budgets in collaboration with internal departments

Procure subcontractors, materials and goods in line with internal procedures

Prepare tenders, subcontract orders, valuations, payments and variations

Evaluate and agree variations, ensuring approvals are obtained where required

Analyse and report on costs and cash flow using internal systems

Contribute to design development to ensure schemes remain within budget

Liaise closely with site teams and subcontractors to maximise productivity

Attend and present at project, commercial and valuation meetings

Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes of practice, NHBC and HSE requirements

Manage, mentor and develop junior team members
-
Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting and commercial reporting

Experience managing large residential developments (PLC)

Knowledge of current construction methods, materials and industry regulations

Confident using Excel and commercial/payment systems

Strong communication and leadership skills
