We are seeking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated Study Skills Tutor to join our exceptionally busy and professional Learning Zone team.

If you are passionate about supporting learners to achieve their academic potential and removing barriers to learning, this role could be for you.

You will provide high-quality academic study support to learners across the College through drop-in sessions, appointments and referrals. You will deliver personalised support that may include:

• Study and revision strategies
• Assignment planning and structuring
• Academic writing and higher-level study skills
• Referencing and research skills
• Literacy, numeracy and digital study skills
• Time management, organisation and independent learning skills
• Supporting learners to understand assessment expectations

You will work with learners from Foundation Learning through to Level 5, including learners with SEND, anxiety, transition barriers or gaps in prior learning. You will also support learners to build independence, resilience and confidence in their academic studies.

You’ll have:

• A degree-level qualification or equivalent professional experience
• English and Maths at Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent)
• Experience supporting young people in an educational or workplace setting
• Experience supporting learners with barriers to learning, including those with EHCPs or SEND
• Strong understanding of how learners learn and common barriers to learning
• Experience supporting academic writing and higher-level study skills
• Excellent organisation, communication and time-management skills
• Digital confidence using learning technologies and assistive technology
• A strong commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and learner wellbeing

It would be desirable if you also have experience delivering structured study skills sessions, supporting learners across multiple levels, or hold qualifications or training in learning support, academic skills delivery or SEND.
