We’re looking for a Service Assistant to join us at Hinton Ampner to help our busy team throughout our visitor operations.

Salary: 12.25 per hour

Contract/duration: 9 month FTC with possibility of extension

Hours/working pattern/hours: 435 hours per year (2 days a week over a 9 month period). We are a seven day a week operating property, weekend work is expected especially Friday to Monday. The role includes working bank holidays but does not require split or evening shifts.

This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in equal instalments over the contract period.

For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.

What it's like to work here
This is an exciting time to join us, as a new volunteering department our aim is to provide our visitors with an ever growing offer and improve our visitor journey.

The Hinton Portfolio spans over Uppark, Hinton Ampner, Winchester City Mill, Selbourne and Ludshott Commons. Working primarily at Hinton you will be joining the Volunteering Team under the Visitor Experience and Operations Department helping to ensure we provide our visitors with the best experience possible.

What you'll be doing
The core part of your job is to give vital and positive support to your colleagues, wherever you’re needed, with a focus on greeting and helping visitors.

No two days will be the same. You can expect to meet many different people and gain a variety of experiences. You’ll get involved in all kinds of tasks, including greeting visitors on arrival, being in rooms to ensure a minimum visitor offer, aiding in the support of volunteers in the house and assisting with our volunteering admin. Your primary role is supporting the team in opening up as many rooms as possible.

Most importantly, you’ll be talking to visitors, answering their questions and making sure they can find everything they need to enjoy their day.

Who we're looking for
We’d love to hear from you if you’re:

focused on giving great service to everyone you meet
a team player, but also happy to work on your own initiative
