Crynodeb

The University is seeking to appoint a Welsh Translator to join its Welsh Language Unit. The postholder will play a key role in strengthening the University’s Welsh translation service, working with colleagues at all levels across the institution.

Based at Pontypridd, with some home working, this role will allow you to utilise your range of translation, organisational and interpersonal skills.

As part of a small translation team, the main purpose of the role is to provide the University with a high quality, customer-focused and responsive Welsh translation service. You will be motivated and able to work under pressure to produce translations of a high standard, within a timely manner. You should have experience of responding to translation requests, and managing your workload effectively.

Simultaneous translation skills are desirable, but not essential.

For an informal conversation about this role, please contact Sara Maynard, Welsh Language Officer and Translation Unit Manager: sara.maynard@southwales.ac.uk

If you are a successful candidate and this position will be your first professional services role at the University (or you are currently employed by PSS Ltd), you will be employed by Professional and Support Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the University of South Wales, which provides services to the University and Colleges.
