Job Overview :
-
We’re looking for a motivated and organised Trainee Transport Scheduler to join our growing transport and logistics team. This role is ideal for a school leaver, college leaver, or recent graduate who is keen to start a career in logistics and transport.
-
You don’t need previous experience in transport — we’re looking for someone with good A-levels (or equivalent), a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. Full training will be provided, with the opportunity to develop valuable skills in scheduling, planning, and logistics operations.
-
What You’ll Be Learning & Doing :
-
With support from the Transport Manager and wider team, you will learn how to:
-
• Assist in planning and updating daily transport schedules
• Communicate with drivers to help ensure deliveries run smoothly
• Liaise with customers to provide delivery updates when required
• Monitor vehicle movements and report any delays or issues
• Keep accurate records of routes, schedules, and delivery times
• Learn how transport and logistics software systems work
• Support compliance with transport regulations and company procedures
• Help schedule appointments for the on-site workshop and liaise with workshop staff
This is a hands-on role where you’ll gradually take on more responsibility as your confidence and knowledge grow.
-
Who We’re Looking For :
-
This role would suit someone who:
• Has good A-levels or equivalent qualifications
• Has a genuine interest in transport, logistics, or operations
• Is organised, reliable, and pays attention to detail
• Is comfortable using computers and learning new systems
• Communicates clearly and professionally, both in person and by email/phone
• Can stay calm when things get busy and manage more than one task at a time
• Is happy with occasional lone working once fully trained
-
No previous transport experience is required — attitude and willingness to learn are more important than experience.
-
Working Conditions :
-
• Office-based role at Jack’s Hill Café, Towcester
• Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support transport schedules
• Supportive training environment with clear progression opportunities
-
Why Join Us? :
-
• A great entry-level opportunity into the transport and logistics industry
• Full training and mentoring provided
• Real career progression opportunities in a growing business
• Friendly, supportive team environment
