Summary

Third in Charge – Up to £35,000 – 40 Hours per week



This Third in Charge role sits at the heart of a well-established nursery rated Good by Ofsted. You’ll work closely with the Nursery Manager and Deputy, combining hands-on room leadership with wider responsibility for day-to-day operations and standards across the setting.



The nursery is based in a beautiful, purpose-designed nursery with a private garden and Forest School, creating a lively, engaging learning environment that balances structure with a warm, homely feel.



Before You Apply



  • This role requires recent experience as a room leader or Third in Charge (or above) in an Early Years setting.

  • You must hold a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification.

  • Salary: Up to £35,000 per year (depending on experience)

What You’ll Need



  • Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification

  • Recent experience as a room leader, Third in Charge, or higher

  • Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements

  • Confidence making operational decisions and leading staff



What You’ll Do



  • Support the Manager and Deputy in the day-to-day running of the nursery

  • Lead a room while maintaining oversight of practice across the setting

  • Ensure safeguarding, EYFS, and Ofsted requirements are met at all times

  • Act as a senior decision-maker in the absence of the Manager or Deputy

  • Support staff performance, ratios, and daily organisation

  • Maintain a safe, engaging learning environment for children and staff
