ROLE SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. PRINCIPLE DUTIES

1. Supporting the set up and clear away of activities, such as materials, chairs/furniture, or refreshments
2. Locking and unlocking the building, potentially holding the keys
3. Running refreshment breaks which may include washing up of used crockery
4. Providing pastoral support for participants and acting as a consistent friendly face
5. Liaising with the Creative Burntwood Project Manager on any issues
6. Welcoming facilitators and supporting them with any required resources
7. Being First Aider for participants and facilitators
8. Ensuring the safety and welfare of all attendees, including safeguarding sessions involve children or vulnerable adults.
9. On occasion, assisting with promotional activities such as leaflet drops, handing out flyers, and answering questions on the project.


2. GENERAL
1. Attending staff meetings/training as required.
2. Maintaining a working knowledge of the project programme. 
3. Adhering to all Lichfield Garrick Theatre policies & procedures.
4. Contributing to staff meetings and working groups as required.
5. Contributing to effective Health & Safety management across the organisation.

We are looking for the following qualities and skills:

PERSON SPECIFICATION & EXPERIENCE

Essential

• Some experience of supporting activities in a community, education or customer facing activities
• Comfortable working with a range of community groups in multiple venues
• Positive and flexible attitude, excellent communication skills, empathy and patience
• Able to work alone under own initiative
• Commitment to accessibility, equity, diversity and inclusion.

Desirable
• Experience of working with children
• Experience of working with vulnerable adults
• Experience of following Risk Assessments
• Safeguarding training
• Experience of public promotion
• Experience of working with volunteers
• Knowledge of Burntwood and the wider Lichfield District
• Full UK Driving license and use of own car
Terms & Conditions:
SALARY: £13.21 per hour plus holiday pay (£14.81 total hourly pay).

CONTRACT DURATION: Fixed term contract until 31st July 2028.

WORKING HOURS: Casual role with hours as required by the project.
Exact days/times will vary with the needs of the programme – evening/weekend work will be required. We are initially just looking for someone to cover the Community Choir on Monday evenings from 7pm-9.45pm approximately, but other support may be needed for activities throughout the project.
