Hours: Monday to Friday | 8:30am - 3:30pm

Are you a patient, compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference through 1:1 support with a child who has ASD and ADHD?
Long Term Futures is working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the B65 area to recruit a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant. This role involves providing targeted 1:1 support to a child with ASD and ADHD, supporting both learning and emotional regulation throughout the school day.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering structured 1:1 interventions, supporting engagement in lessons and helping the child develop positive behaviour strategies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about SEN support who thrives on building strong, consistent relationships with pupils.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent 1:1 support to a pupil with ASD and ADHD
- Deliver tailored intervention sessions focusing on attention, emotional regulation, and social skills
- Implement strategies such as visual timetables, movement breaks and sensory regulation tools
- Support the child during class activities, transitions and unstructured times
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo and external professionals
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to support EHCP targets
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience supporting children with ASD and/or ADHD (school-based or transferable experience considered)
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- Confidence delivering 1:1 interventions and behaviour support strategies
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with SEND
