NW Recruitment are pleased to be recruiting for a skilled Assembler / Soldering Operative to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Blackburn. With more than five decades of industry experience, our client specialises in high-quality, in-house production, supplying customers globally and maintaining an excellent market reputation.

The role:

This position offers a great opportunity for someone looking to further develop practical engineering skills within a hands-on manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be involved in the assembly of motor and gearbox components and will receive full training in machine setting, including equipment such as moulders and gear cutters.

Please note: applicants must have previous assembly experience.
While soldering experience is desirable, full training can be provided for candidates with a background in electronic assembly.

What’s on offer:

• Hourly rate: £13.42 per hour
• 4-day working week – enjoy long weekends every week
• Hours: Monday to Thursday, 06:00 – 16:00
• Overtime: Paid at 1.25 rate on any hours over normal hours
• Breaks: 10-minute morning and afternoon breaks plus a 30-minute lunch
• Holiday entitlement: 45 half-day units per year, including fixed time off over the Christmas period (22.5 total days leave) after the initial 12-week period

• 12-week temp to perm role

Key duties:

• Assemble motor and gearbox assemblies in line with technical specifications
• Carry out soldering operations on products as required
• Conduct quality checks to ensure high standards of accuracy and finish
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the production team
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
• Train to set and operate machinery, including moulders and gear-cutting equipment

Candidate requirements:

• At least two years’ experience in an assembly role within an engineering or manufacturing setting
• Excellent attention to detail with a strong focus on quality
• Comfortable working within a fast-paced production environment
• Team-focused with a positive, proactive attitude
• Willingness to learn new skills and develop technically
