Are you experienced in producing accurate, client?ready cost reports and communicating financial performance to both internal management and external stakeholders?
Do you have strong working knowledge of cost?control procedures, contract terms, and project close-out requirements?
The Opportunity
A Senior Cost Analyst is required on a long-term (12+ month) hybrid contract based in Manchester. The role focuses on delivering accurate cost reporting, robust cost control, and effective communication across project teams and client representatives.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
- Produce accurate cost reports in line with contractual and client requirements.
- Manage all aspects of cost control for assigned work packages, including:
- Budgets
- Commitments
- VOWD
- Accrual generation
- Forecasting for labour, subcontract, and procurement costs
- Communicate cost data clearly and confidently to internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to and review project controls procedures (e.g., invoicing, budget and cost control, accounting, change management) to ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Prepare monthly internal cost reporting, including financial statements for management review.
- Present month-end results to both client and management teams.
- Lead cost-related elements of project close-out and benchmarking activities.
- Promote strong working relationships across project controls, wider project teams, and client representatives.
- Demonstrate commitment to company values and support the delivery of health, safety, environmental, quality, and ethical standards.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- Proven industry experience in cost control.
- Strong knowledge of cost-control and cost-reporting techniques and methodologies.
- Understanding of contract terms and conditions relating to cost, payments, penalties, insurances, guarantees, and progress measurement systems.
- A proactive attitude with the capability and ambition to progress into a supporting Project Controls Management role.
